Cocktail Party 2010

Friday 30 July 2010

A fun evening was had by all at the annual fundraising Cocktail Party, held at the Brighton Savoy. With fabulous displays of artwork from Without Pier Galleries, wine tasting provided by Simply Wines and great auction items available, there was plenty to keep the crowd entertained.

Great auction items, including weekends away, beauty packages, tickets to FOX FM's Hamish and Andy Show and the Matt and Jo Breakfast Show, provided something for everyone and there were some bargains to be had!

Master of Ceremonies and band member Coxy (Geoff Cox from TV Show "Coxy's Big Break") ensured the night ran smoothly and made sure there was plenty of time for guests to kick up their heels.

Organised by a committee of dedicated volunteers, the event raised almost $40,000!

The money raised this year will go towards a community house at 199 Bluff Road in Sandringham, Victoria.

The community house will create a place where local families can go for support and to learn new skills and develop social networks. It will be modelled on our community houses at 12 Keith Street Hampton East and 8 Lochiel Avenue Edithvale. Evaluation of the family programs run at our community houses found that parents developed increased confidence, children experienced improved wellbeing and vulnerable babies were helped to stay living safely with their families.

Thank you to all those businesses and local community members who supported the event, including our major sponsors:
