VET and VCAL – Structured Workplace Training
Are you looking for somewhere for your VET and VCAL students to receive workplace training in retail?
At Family Life's Social Enterprise Opportunity Shops students from Years 9 to 12 can receive structured retail training and work experience, in a fun and friendly environment.
Students can complete the one year training course in Certificate II in Retail (SIR20207), accredited by Holmesglen TAFE.
As part of the training students learn retail skills including:
- Point of Sale Terminal training
- Customer Service
- Visual Merchandising
- Occupational Health and Safety in Retail
- Interaction with customers
They will also receive work experience in a functioning retail store, with support from volunteer mentors. Class sizes are kept small (approximately 10 people) to provide the best learning opportunities.
This training occurs at the Opportunity Shops at 316 Charman Road in Cheltenham, and
435 Nepean Highway in Chelsea, Victoria.
