About Family Life

Family Life serves families, children and youth with a priority to those at-risk, guided by a whole of family approach. Since 1970 we have responded to the needs of the community and developed innovative programs to promote wellbeing. Our services are provided by dynamic teams of employed and volunteer staff ensuring our values of respect, empowerment, inclusion and community are evident in our relationships and activities.

About the position

The Children, Youth & Families Act 2005 provides the legislative basis for the provision of services to vulnerable children, young people and their families in Victoria. The new legislation places children's best interests at the heart of all decision-making and service delivery arrangements. Funded agencies are required to work together to achieve earlier intervention with vulnerable children and families and reduce child abuse and neglect.

Family Life, in conjunction with other partners, will operate Child FIRST services in the Inner Middle South with a catchment area of Glen Eira, Stonnington, Port Phillip, Bayside and Kingston.

To be successful in this role you will need a tertiary qualification in Social Work or relevant Youth or Community Services disciplines, experience in working with young people and families with complex needs and a commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
