Exciting news - A New Children's Services Centre
Family Life has provided family counselling and support services to the local community since 1970 - helped greatly by the generous support of community members.
Thanks to a generous bequest from Miss Mary Couper, gifts from 2 major trusts and many donations from community members we have raised sufficient funds to construct a new Children's Services Centre at our premises in at 197 Bluff Road Sandringham Victoria
The centre provides purpose-built counselling and mediation facilities with particular attention to safety for the children and parents where there are high levels of conflict and family violence. When separating parents are assisted to achieve amicable outcomes, the major beneficiaries are their children. The centre will add to our Community rooms where education seminars and support groups are provided for parents, children and young people, thus providing a full complement of the facilities to respond flexibly to the needs of families seeking assistance.
On the opening of our new Children’s Services Centre, Our Patron, Mr Justice (John) Fogarty. AM noted that ….” Although both the name of Family Life and its work emphasises an holistic approach to families and children it must be constantly borne in mind that in the final analysis it is services to vulnerable and needy children which is its reason for existence.”
