Our Patrons
Mr Justice (John) Fogarty. AM
Hon. John Fogarty was a Family Court Judge and Head of the Child Support Consultative Group from 1976 – 1998.
During this period he wrote 3 Child Protection Reports: (1988, 1991, 1993)
In 1991, he was awarded AM for work with children.
John has been a supporter and Patron of Family Life for over 10 years.
When asked why he enjoyed supporting Family Life’s work, John replied, "I was attracted to its practical and innovative work and its energy and drive".
On the opening of our new Children’s Services Centre, Our Patron, Mr Justice (John) Fogarty. AM noted that ….” Although both the name of Family Life and its work emphasises an holistic approach to families and children it must be constantly borne in mind that in the final analysis it is services to vulnerable and needy children which is its reason for existence.”

Following his studies in both Mechanical Engineering and then Theology, Graeme went onto become an extremely active member of the Bayside community with interests ranging from conservation, history, sailing and local government including twice holding the position of Mayor of Bayside.
His contributions and service to our community have been recognised by many awards including the Attorney General’s Department Award for his voluntary work as a Justice of the Peace, honorary membership of two Rotary clubs, a Federation Medal in 2002 and, from the Bayside City Council, a Letter Under Seal in 1998, 2001 & 2003.
As our Patron Graeme brings to Family Life a generous spirit, invaluable wisdom and compassion for his fellow human beings.
