About the Position

As a Family Worker you will work with a range of clients including those with complex needs and presenting issues related to Family Violence.  You will undertake individual counselling and group work with men seeking behaviour change and apply a range of service modalities to best meet client needs. Responsibilities  will include counselling (centre-based) and outreach, community education, assessment, group work, case-management and duty & Intake

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will need a tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or related field. Experience of working specifically with male clients in individual and group settings and working with families that have experienced family violence is essential.  You will have previous experience facilitating Men's Behaviour Change groups and have good working knowledge of systems, family, and family violence theories and research.

About the Position

Family Life has an exciting opportunity for an organised Team Leader to join their dedicated Child and Family Team in Chelsea, Melbourne. This is role is being offered on a full time basis.

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be leading a team of client services staff, students and volunteers in accordance with organisational strategic directions, and advocate for the needs of vulnerable children across all service activities, ensuring best practice in responding to children and families with complex needs and child protection concerns. 

 

You will manage the provision of innovative and targeted case management and outreach services to young people and families in the agency's catchment area of Glen Eira, Stonnington, Port Phillip, Bayside and Kingston.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need a tertiary qualification in Human and/or Community Services. You will have experience of working with people with a mental illness including families, children and young people with complex needs.  You will utilise your comprehensive knowledge of mental health risk assessment to deliver a range of prevention, intervention and developmental services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Family Life and be part of the Family Support Services team based at Frankston.  In July of 2006 a Family Relationship Centre was established funded under the Australian Government Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) for Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.

 

Engagement of the broader community and volunteers is a critical component of the model for promoting the agency's family strengthening and caring community approach.

You will find your role as team leader a rewarding one where you will lead the delivery of the Family Life model for post separation and Family Dispute Resolution services for parents, children and extended families.  You will supervise a team of professionals and volunteers to provide counselling, communication coaching, mediation / dispute resolution and support services for families, children and young people. About You

To be successful in this role you will need Registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Australian Attorney General's Department and a tertiary qualification in Social Work or psychology or equivalent.  You will have experience in leading and developing a small team of staff providing professional supervision, training and performance management for practitioners trained in social work, psychology, family therapy and other direct services and counselling modalities.
