About the position
The Early Childhood Development project is a new initiative to improve and strengthen the integration, linkages and partnerships between early years' service providers and Child FIRST/Family Services to maximise vulnerable children and families' opportunities in accessing and remaining engaged with universal and secondary early years' services. The primary target group for intervention is vulnerable families with children (0-5 years). This position will provide service enhancements for vulnerable children (0-5 years) through developing and facilitating targeted capacity building activities to enhance family services and early years' practitioner skills in assessing, planning and responding to vulnerable early childhood developmental needs.


About You
To be successful in this role you will need a Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Development, Infant Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology or equivalent.
You will have specific understanding, working knowledge and experience working with the early childhood services and/or vulnerable children/families. Demonstrated experience in undertaking program development and implementation in a complex service environment is essential. You will also have demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, including child and family services alliances, local government, kindergartens, childcare centres, and have the ability to provide high level advice on early childhood developmental needs within a family services context.

Family Worker

As a Family Worker you will work with a range of clients including those with complex needs and presenting issues related to Family Violence.  You will undertake individual counselling and group work with men seeking behaviour change and apply a range of service modalities to best meet client needs. Responsibilities  will include counselling (centre-based) and outreach, community education, assessment, group work, case-management and duty & Intake

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will need a tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or related field. Experience of working specifically with male clients in individual and group settings and working with families that have experienced family violence is essential.  You will have previous experience facilitating Men's Behaviour Change groups and have good working knowledge of systems, family, and family violence theories and research.

Family Life is a community service organisation, offering a range of counselling, support, dispute resolution and community building services. About the Position

Family Life, in conjunction with other partners, operate Child FIRST services in the Inner Middle South with a catchment area of Glen Eira, Stonnington, Port Phillip, Bayside and Kingston.  You will find your role as Program Manager within the Child FIRST team a rewarding one, where you will provide support and supervision to a Team Leader that oversees the  prioritising of referrals into the catchment Integrated Family Services and conducting initial assessments with children and families based on the 'Best Interests' framework.  As a Manager this position forms part of the Family Life management team with responsibility for progressing the agency Mission, values and business model, achieved through direct engagement with the services of the agency, development of staff, volunteers and effective teamwork through individual and collective contribution of members.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced program manager or a team leader wanting to develop and further their career at a progressive agency. 

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will need a Degree in Social Work or Psychology or equivalent tertiary human services qualification.  Graduate or postgraduate professional qualification in a discipline appropriate to the management of child, youth and family services plus qualifications or post graduate training in Management and/or Business Administration.  Eligibility for membership of A.A.S.W., M.A.P.S. or equivalent professional body. Your leadership skills, knowledge of government social policy and experience in the industry will be utilised to manage the daily operation of the Child FIRST program and ensure services are delivered to quality standards and the strategic directions of the agency.

You will be involved in assisting our Alliance members seeking information, appointments, education and/or training courses, ensure accurate recording of statistical data collection as required and provide word processing and administrative services to the Child FIRST Program Manager, Team Leader and Child FIRST team. The Child FIRST Service Support worker would also, at times, be required to speak on behalf of Child FIRST at Alliance meetings.


About You

To be successful in this role you will need a Certificate in Business Studies or equivalent experience. You will have proven experience in working in a customer focused team, will have experience in secretarial/personal assistant work, including administering a database system and will have experience in providing information to clients in person and also over the phone.
